In collaboration with the Protected Area Workers Association in NSW, the Association of Rangers and Conservationists Vic and partner agencies, we are excited to present the inaugural Australian Alps Ranger Relay 2022. With your support, we hope to engage rangers and protected area workers from across Victoria and the whole of Australasia, bringing teams together to hike the length of the Australian Alps Walking Track.
Starting in Walhalla on November 1st we will pass a message stick between each of the 17 sections, across the NSW and ACT boarders. Finishing in Namadgi National Park, for their World Mountain Day Celebration on December 11th.
Is there a section you have always wanted to hike and never had the opportunity? Gather your crew, because here it is!! Maybe you are interested in being a logistics support driver, or you are up for a shorter 1 day loop with the group, there are many options available to get involved.
This is set to be a great opportunity for rangers and protected area workers to come together and spend some quality time in the amazing Australian Alps, while raising funds for ranger projects with the support of the Thin Green Line Foundation.
We are currently collating Expressions of Interest via the following link. This is in no way binding, though it will put you on our mailing list for updates!
